I am always looking for the best travel apps, and you have a great list here. I am what they call a seasoned traveler, so I am always looking for essentials, but don’t want to clutter. I travel frequently on business related to my job at Dish, which means I need apps that will keep me organized and stress free. I have two apps that work well for me that I’d like to add to the discussion; yelp and dish remote access. Both are fantastic; yelp helps with finding out where the hot after hour spots are, and dish remote access allows me to access movies from my home programming via my tablet. I can relax to a movie should I run into a stressful situation.

Tenerife is the most visited island of the Canary island group and as such has some of the best nightlife, the clubbers amongst you head for Playa de las Americas and the strip (veronicas) where things most certainly come alive after dark. For a more sedate pace but still within easy reach choose nearby Los Cristianos which still has a little charm with it's tiny streets and many small cafes, bars and restaurants. Betweeen these two resorts in the south of the island nestles a fantastic golden sand beach (Playa de las Vistas) which is man-made of course. The south experiences the best weather and as such commands a higher price although there are still great holiday bargains to be enjoyed as there is and abundance of places to stay and many low-cost airlines to get you there. What are you waiting for?

This is a nice place to enjoy together with friends. The bars are very trendy and unique. Berlin is the place to be.

We spent a long weekend in Istanbul by package tours turkey .com We had no idea where to visit but this tour company guided us and made our stay very enjoyable.
They communicated well through email prior to our visit, explaining all details and did not require money up front. We paid after the event. They picked us up from the airport and escorted us to the hotel, arranged a private guided tour around the city with and excellent English speaking guide. (his knowledge and English accent were perfect). The company had purchased tickets for the palace in advance which meant we did not have to queue.
In the evening we were collected from our hotel and taken to a boat for an evening dinner cruise with entertainment. A most enjoyable evening.
We were also collected from our hotel in good time for our return trip to the airport.
All prices were very reasonable.They are to be recommended.

Hi Devo,

We absolutely adore Queensland. We love Noosa, Byron (just on the edge of Qld), and the Rainforest area of O'Rileys to name a few.

Australia is just magical and you can never put top 5 together in a list like this. This was just a mere attempt. :)

I personally haven't been to Mackay but have heard its gorgeous!

Five overlooked destinations but none in queensland? How about Finch Hatton Gorge west of Mackay. Glorious waterfalls and rainforest and if your lucky you might even see a Ulysses Swallowtail.

You should do research in terms of surveying the area. Bright spots will help and that's why shooting when the sun is the brightest will usually be the best time to take pictures. Different angles of the same object will always be great because of the fact that it will look more impressive and professional.

I'm all into research when it comes to Travel Photography.
A good research takes time and effort, but can pay off with great shots when you're at your travel destination. At least, it makes you appreciate your destination the most, and doesn't make you wander aimlessly.
For me the steps of a good research are first of all guidebooks, next visual research and planning a shooting list (besides meeting locals).
This is a great article, every point in the list makes sense.
By the way, I'm writing about Travel Photography planning on a series on my blog.
